East Markham’s Annual Parochial Church Meeting will take place in Church on Wednesday 11th April, at 7.30 p.m. One of the main items of business is the election of the Church Wardens, by tradition the electors are everyone on the civil electoral roll; this is the formal and constitutional link between all parishioners, whatever their creed, and the Parish Church – please do come and exercise your right.

CHURCHYARD CLEANUP – SATURDAY 21 APRIL AT 10.00 A.M.
The P.C.C. would appreciate help in tidying the Churchyard, e.g cutting back ivy and other encroaching vegetation and generally tidying up. If you can help, please bring suitable tools with you. If you would like to help but rather work inside, there is tidying and cleaning to do in church as well.
GROVE Annual Parochial Church Meeting, will be held in St Helen’s Church on Monday, 23rd April at 2.00 p.m., chaired by Associate Archdeacon Canon Phil Williams.
Saturday 7th July, during the Deanery Open Churches Weekend, when we will hold our summer fundraising event, the format of which has yet to be decided.
MOTHERS’ UNION NOTES
There was no local meeting of the Mothers’ Union in March, instead some members attended part of Bishop Paul’s Lent course held in Retford at St Swithun’s Church. It took place over two nights. The subjects were Grace and Forgiveness. It was also attended by some theological students. Members found it interesting and enlightening.
At the next meeting on the 9th April members will be attending the Lady Day Service in Southwell Minster, beginning at 2pm.
Maundy Thursday, 29th March Group Holy Communion at East Markham at 7.00 p.m.
Good Friday, 30th March – Messy Church at East Markham from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Everyone welcome, especially children – come along and join the activities with a Good Friday theme.
